Budget settings
"Settings" → "Advanced" → "Budgets" is the one organization-wide switch for how budgets show cost per unit. A budget's P&L by tags view can divide each project's figures by a number the project carries, such as its floor area, and show the result as a cost per unit. This screen turns that on and chooses which project attribute supplies the number.
Who can change it
An administrator or a person with the budgets manager role can open this screen and change it. The setting is organization-wide, and only an administrator's change is accepted by the server.
The controls on this screen
The card is titled Budget price-per-unit and is described as "Unit cost display in budgets".
Show price-per-unit in budgets: a switch. It is off by default. Each change is saved the moment you flip it, and a Success message confirms it.
Project attribute used as the divisor: a drop-down that appears only while the switch above is on. It lists the organization's attributes of type Number, each followed by its unit when the attribute has one, for example "Area (m²)". Picking one saves it at once. The default is an attribute named "Powierzchnia" (Polish for area), matched without regard to upper or lower case. If the organization has no attribute of that name, pick one here. Clearing the field stores no name, and the default then applies again.
Attributes are created under Attributes; only Number attributes can be a divisor.
What changes in a budget
With the switch on, a budget's P&L by tags tab offers a Cost / m² toggle, where the unit is the one the chosen attribute carries. Switching it on for a budget shows, under each project row, the project's value divided by the project's value of the chosen attribute. The toggle is per budget, so each budget decides for itself.
The unit comes from the attribute's format. An attribute whose format carries no unit falls back to m².
The toggle also needs the organization's property management setting to be on. Without it the switch on this screen has no visible effect, and no toggle appears in any budget.
Example use cases
- A property manager divides every project's cost by its floor area to compare buildings.
- An organization measures cost per kilometre of road by choosing a Number attribute whose unit is km.
- An administrator switches the setting off to remove the toggle from every budget again.
