Manage active modules
"Settings" → "Administration" → "Manage active modules" lets an administrator switch individual modules off for the whole organization, and back on. The page title carries the organization's name.
Who can change it
Only an administrator can open this screen and change the switches.
The controls on this screen
The card is titled Manage active modules and described as "Enable or disable organization modules". It holds one switch per module. A switch that is on means the module is enabled for the organization. Every switch starts on.
The switches, in order:
- Agreements
- Resource booking
- Budgets
- Documents
- Time off requests
- Human resources
- Invoicing
- Time tracking
- Cost control
There is no Save button. Each switch is stored the moment you flip it, and a Success message confirms it. If storing fails, the switch returns to its previous position and an error is shown. The switches are unavailable while a change is being stored.
What a switch does
Switching a module off marks it as inactive for the organization, even though the organization still has it. Permissions that exist only because of that module stop working for everyone who receives them through a permission group, and the module's permissions are no longer offered when you edit a group. Switching it on again restores them. See Permission groups for how permissions from an inactive module behave.
A switch can only turn off modules the organization has. Turning a switch on does not add a module the organization has not subscribed to. The Team members module is not on this screen and cannot be switched off. The screen stores only the list of switched-off modules.
Example use cases
- An administrator of an organization that does not hire switches off Human resources to keep it out of the permission groups.
- An administrator switches Resource booking off while the team is not using it, and back on later.
- An administrator checks that Invoicing is on before granting finance permissions.
