Dashboard widgets
"Settings" → "Workspace" → "Dashboard widgets" decides what the organization's home screen is made of: which widgets exist for anyone in the organization, which of them start out on a person's board, which lead, and which absence types the absence widget counts. The settings apply to everyone in the organization, not per role.
Three questions are answered in three separate cards, in this order: may the organization see the widget at all, does it start out on a person's board, and where does it sit.
Who can change it
Only an administrator can open this screen and change it. Everyone else sees the result on the home screen.
The controls on this screen
Dashboard widgets
One switch per widget, on by default. A widget with no stored choice is on. A switched-off widget is gone for the whole organization. Each switch saves the moment you flip it, with a Success message.
- Work time log
- Project timer
- Absent team members
- Feedback suggestion
- Action needed agreements
- Time off requests
- Responsibilities
- Tasks
- Days off
- Account balance
- Needs attention
- Asset booking
- Action needed documents
- What’s new on Flowtly
- Budgets
Each switch carries the title the widget shows on the home screen.
Shown by default
Choose which of the allowed widgets start out on everyone's home screen. People can add the others themselves.
Show by default: a switch on each allowed widget. A widget that is switched off in the card above is listed greyed out with the label Switched off for this organisation and no switch, because a widget nobody can see has no default.
Save: stores the choice. Until you save, nothing changes. An organization that has never saved here shows every allowed widget by default. Once you save, the list is fixed as saved: a widget the product adds later is not shown by default until you switch it on here.
Dashboard order
Applies to people who have never rearranged their own home screen. Once someone rearranges theirs, theirs wins, and they can come back here from their own board.
The card has two lists. Leads the dashboard holds the widgets you rank, in your order. Everything else — in the product's order holds the rest, in the product's own order. When nothing is ranked the first list reads "No organisation default — every dashboard uses the product's order."
The controls are arrow buttons, named for their widget:
- Move up and Move down change a ranked widget's place. Move down on the last ranked widget removes it from the ranking.
- Move into the leading list lifts a widget from the second list to the end of the first.
- Save: stores the order.
A switched-off widget keeps its row, marked Switched off for this organisation. The ordering covers all widgets the home screen can show.
Unavailable team members: which absences count
Ticked absence types appear in the Unavailable team members widget, for everyone in the organization. Untick the ones where people are still working and reachable, such as business travel. Every type the organization has is listed, including its own. A type added later starts ticked. By default everything except remote work is ticked. Save stores the choice.
The card appears only when the Holidays module is on. If the widget is switched off above, the card says so and has no effect until it is switched back on. When the types cannot be loaded, it says the setting cannot be changed right now.
Recommendations
A side panel, Recommendations, with three tips: "Enable what you use", "Hide distractions" and "Restore defaults anytime". Use Compact and Expand to fold it. It carries no settings.
Example use cases
- An administrator switches off Account balance because the organization does not use it, so the home screen opens on what matters.
- An administrator puts Time off requests and Needs attention at the top of Leads the dashboard so a new member sees them first.
- An administrator unticks business travel so people on a trip do not appear as unavailable.
- An administrator keeps a widget allowed but not shown by default, so people add it only if they want it.
