Payment schedule
GeneralThe list of payments a contract sets out, each with an amount, a due date and a direction. A supplier contract's schedule lists what you will pay; a client contract's lists what you expect to receive.
Why it matters
A contract's commitments only become manageable once they are dated amounts. A payment schedule turns an agreement into expected cash flows that a budget and a cash forecast can count.
Worked example
A 12-month support contract worth 24 000 is entered as twelve monthly lines of 2 000 due on the 10th, in the client direction, so the expected income is visible month by month.
In Flowtly
A contract in Flowtly is a set of payment schedule lines, each with an amount, a due date and a direction, optionally linked to one or more budgets. Marking a contract as cyclic is advisory: lines are still added one at a time.
