Monthly project sign-off
GeneralThe month-end confirmation, by the person responsible for a client project, of the hours and rates that will be billed for that month. Once signed, the month is ready to invoice.
Why it matters
Invoicing straight from unchecked timesheets is how billing errors reach clients. A sign-off puts one accountable person between the logged hours and the invoice, and keeps a record of exactly what the client was shown.
Worked example
Early in October an account manager opens the September review, corrects one line with a reason and signs. Finance sees the project as signed on the project list and raises the invoice.
In Flowtly
The project list has a Sign-off column showing whether each project's month is not started, in review, signed or re-opened. The project's account manager signs, finance is notified, and only an administrator can re-open a signed month.
