Project template

General

A reusable description of a project's structure and timing, such as its phases and checklists, from which new projects are created. The client, the team and the financial details belong to each project, not to the template.

Why it matters

Firms that run the same kind of engagement again and again lose time, and consistency, rebuilding the same structure by hand. A template makes the standard way of working the default starting point.

Worked example

An accounting firm runs a year-end close for every client with the same two phases and four checklists. It builds that shape once as a template and creates each client's project from it in a few clicks.

In Flowtly

Project templates sit beside Projects in the sidebar. Projects Viewers and Projects Managers can create projects from a template; only a Projects Manager can build or change one.
